My name is Lucy and I’m an English as a Second Language teacher. I received my Master’s degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from the University of San Francisco in the U.S.A. I chose to pursue a Master’s degree in TESOL, because I saw how my parents struggled with learning the English language when they immigrated to the United States, not only did I see them struggle, but also those immigrants around them. In addition, on my free time I would tutor those who were learning the English language, and I noticed that I started to enjoy the process of teaching, helping those who are in need, and learning about their cultures. In result, I decided that my next step would be to become a professional in this field, so that’s when I took the big leap and chose it as my career path. As I was studying I published one of my articles “Building a language BRIDGE” in The New Teacher Advocate journal. I attended several trainings to make myself a better educator. I have 5+ years of experience teaching and tutoring students ages 3-18.
